Eleanor Johnson
Goo goo ga ga! (That’s “Cheif Happiness Officer” in baby talk.) As the youngest member of the River Bend family, I’m in charge of smiles, giggles, and making sure everyone takes plenty of breaks for cuddles.
I love exploring our big backyard, playing with my toys (especially the noisy ones!), and “helping” Daddy with his projects. (Mostly by “supervising” from my comfy carrier.) I’m also a master of distraction, so if you see me crawling around during a meeting, don’t be surprised if I steal the show!
My favourite things include: Mommy’s milk, bath time, making funny faces, and exploring all the exciting textures on our acreage (grass, dirt, leaves…yum!).
Even though I can’t talk yet, I’m already a big part of the River Bend team. I bring the joy, the laughter, and the reminder that family always comes first.

Vanessa Johnson
As the heart of our family, Vanessa brings a calming presence and a deep sense of compassion to everything she does. Whether she’s caring for newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit (where she works as a Registered Nurse) or nurturing our own little one, Eleanor, her warmth and kindness shine through.
While her exact role at River Bend Contracting is still evolving, one thing is certain: Vanessa has an incredible knack for organization and a keen eye for detail. Behind the scenes, she’ll be the driving force ensuring everything runs smoothly, from project timelines to client communication.
Beyond her professional life, Vanessa is passionate about family, plants, and exploring new culinary adventures. She finds joy in creating a cozy and welcoming home, and she has a talent for transforming spaces with her unique sense of style. (Just don’t ask her to share it on social media – she prefers to let her work speak for itself!)
And for thoe lucky enough to know her well, Vanessa has a hidden talent: a hilarious sense of humor that can brighten any day. She truly is the heart and soul of River Ben Contracting, bringing warmth, organization, and a touch of laughter to our team.

Family man, entrepreneur, and creative spirit – that’s me in a nutshell! I’m a proud husband to Vanessa and father to our little girl, Eleanor. When I’m not chasing after her (or dreaming up new business ventures), you’ll find me with a tool in hand, bringing our vision for River Bend to life. I’ve always had a passion for building and creating, whether it’s crafting a unique piece of furniture or transforming a neglected space into something extraordinary.
I’ve always loved the challenge of juggling multiple things – maybe that’s why I enjoy real estate so much! I own and operate Rent Better Property Management (we take care of over 700 properties!), and I’m also the proud owner of River Street Real Estate, our brokerage her in Medicine Hat. And of course, there’s River Bend Contracting, my latest adventure! I’m a licensed real estate agent and a licensed and insured general contractor, so you can rest assured that your project is in experienced hands. (But don’t worry, I still know how to have fun!)
But beyond the credentials, I’m just a big kid at heart who loves the outdoors, sports, technology, tools, and finding new ways to do things better. I’m fueled by positivity and a genuine desire to help others create spaces they’ll love. Oh, and I’m also the uncle to 4 amazing nieces & nephews who give the best airplane rides and people know me by name at Home Depot.
